I will make thy seed
As the dust of the earth:
So that if a man can number
The dust of the earth,
Then shall thy seed
Also be numbered.
For I know the thoughts
That I think toward you,
Saith the LORD,
Thoughts of peace,
And not of evil,
To give you
An expected end.
As the host of heaven
Cannot be numbered,
Neither the sand
Of the sea measured:
So will I multiply
The seed of David
My servant,
And the Levites
That minister unto me.
How precious also
Are thy thoughts unto me,
O God!
How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them,
They are more in number
Than the sand:
When I awake,
I am still with thee.
