The sayings of Jesus

The sayings of Jesus

Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

John 12:44-50 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Be humble; Matthew 5:2-3 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor (lowly) in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Be compassionate; Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Be gentile; Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Seek the righteousness of God; Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Be merciful; Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Have clean thoughts; Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Love peace; Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Love righteousness; Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Rejoice in the Lord; Matthew 5:11-12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
