Praying in tongues keeps you in the love of God.
Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost (feast of harvest or feast of weeks or day of firstfruits,) was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings (utterances,) which cannot be uttered (with our own understanding.) And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints (church) according to the will of God.
1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak of with the tongues men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Jude 1:20-21 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
